TASCAM\'s iM2 turns the iPhone, iPad or iPod touch into a high-quality stereo recorder. A pair of condenser microphones - the same high quality as TASCAM\'s best-selling DR-series recorders - plugs into the dock connector of your Apple device.
The microphones are adjustable over 180 degrees for the best sound placement. The uni-directional elements are arranged in an AB pattern for detailed stereo imaging while capturing the ambience of your room.
The iM2 contains its own microphone preamp and analog-to-digital converter for low noise and great audio quality. Unlike mics that use the built-in iPhone preamp, the iM2 can handle up to 125dB sound levels to capture the loudest concerts and instruments without distortion.

‘What sets this new system apart is an enhanced feature set, including the integration with our Wireless Workbench software that will provide engineers and performers with options for increased control and connectivity.’ said Matt Engstrom, category director for Listening Products at Shure.
Featuring networking connectivity with full WWB integration and a diversity-equipped low profile bodypack receiver, the PSM 1000 aims to meet the demanding requirements of sound professionals.
TASCAM has updated their best-selling line of single-rackspace CD players with the CD-500 and CD-500B. The new slot-loading players include new features such as flash start with a front-panel 10-key pad, WAV file playback, front-panel lockout, a footswitch input and more. The unbalanced CD-500 includes RS-232C control, S/PDIF optical and coaxial output. The CD-500B adds balanced outputs, AES/EBU digital out and parallel control.
The new transport in the CD-500 and CD-500B uses a brushless motor for improved reliability and durability. The drive grabs discs from the edges instead of top and bottom, which avoids damage to the disc surface. Other features include ±16% pitch control, MP3 file playback, auto ready and auto cue modes. A wireless remote control is included with the unit.
TASCAM, the company that invented home recording, has launched the DR-05, a new portable recorder with high-resolution audio quality that’s simple to use.
The stereo recorder features a pair of condenser microphones with sensitivity up to 125dB SPL and low noise, designed to capture every detail and dynamic of a performance. The design of the DR-05 is optimized for sound quality, from the dedicated power supply for the codec to bring out the full spec of the A/D and D/A converter to the separate analog & digital circuit boards and low impedance circuit design with noise resistance in its compact case. The DR-05 records to microSD or microSDHC media, recording in MP3 or WAV (BWF) file format at up to 96kHz/24-bit resolution.
The new DR-05‘s great-sounding recordings are easy to operate. The Peak reduction function sets the optimum recording level even in recording to avoid the over level. Quick Menu selects commonly used parameters in playback or record like auto level setting or limiting, while deeper settings are available through a full-featured setup menu. The 1/8” mic/line input can supply power for microphones. A Level Align function prevents uneven volume levels during playback through the 1/8” headphone output or built-in speaker. Variable-Speed Audition – which changes playback speed without affecting pitch – and looping are also available during playback for transcription or learning new music. 17.5 hours of longer battery life at 44.1kHz/16-bit, WAV (BWF) is long enough for any recording situation.
For recording live music, band rehearsals, classes or simply sharing your music with the world, TASCAM’s DR-05 is an unbeatable value.
